Chamber opposes electricity tariff hike for small industries
Then President Andaru Deviprasad Shetty, together with the district small-scale industries association, said the increase in fixed charges on electricity bills was affecting the growth of small-scale industries, 13,000 units that employ about 1.65 lakh people in Udupi district.
The Chamber asked the state government to reduce tariffs and cut the electricity tax from 9% to 5%.
